Within a traditional structure where artists navigated the challenges of distribution, monetization, and ownership, MusicFund aimed to intersect creativity with blockchain innovation - where the world of music meets the realm of NFT's.
A Two-Month Journey from Concept to Web Reality
In early August 2021 we kicked off the project. We had 2 months to name, brand, and launch this idea. There was a lot of work to be done that ranged from branding to engineering a kick-a** website. During this time, the team joined together to assist with the launch. Timelines were tight, but spirits were high. We hit the ground running and wouldn’t stop until MusicFund was on the web.
The MusicFund Revolution
In our quest to understand music funding dynamics, we chatted with artists, fans, and newcomers to get a pulse on their needs. What emerged was a strong desire for creative freedom and support among up-and-coming talents. Our talks highlighted a need to break free from traditional models while supporting artistic growth.

We boiled down these insights into MusicFund's vibe: safety-minded yet adventurous, down-to-earth yet passionate. With MusicFund, artists get ETH grants, no strings attached, empowering them to drive their careers forward while keeping full control and ownership. Artists can thrive with their distinct style and vision, leveraging the power of NFTs and cryptocurrency to reshape the landscape of funding.
We grounded our design approach in user research and fundamental principles, capturing lively tones with a prominent palette of lime green and black to evoke boldness and striking aesthetics. Our web launch seamlessly blended a departure from conventional norms with a focus on fostering artistic growth. The goal was to empower artists within a community-driven platform.

NFT'S
Generating Crypto Art for Artists
We faced two challenges. Firstly, integrating diverse artistic expressions in a way that felt genuine. Secondly, we sought to elevate MusicFund's brand identity as a supportive hub for emerging artists in the crypto and NFT space, rather than just another funding platform.

Remember that hand from our mood board? It struck us as a powerful symbol of community and support for artists. Think about it – when people come together, they often hold hands or raise them in solidarity. At concerts, we raise our hands to connect with the music and the performers. Alright, we've got our main design down. Now, let's dive in and get creative!

nft's
Creating these NFTs was like improvising in the studio – colorful, textured, and bursting with vibes. Inspired by the hand symbol from our mood board, our NFTs are all about community and connection. We wanted them to feel genuine, like they belonged in the creative space. Each one distinct, each one unique, each one carrying its own special essence. Each NFT is a ticket to our exclusive club, where music lovers and crypto heads vibe together.

MusicFund's Grant Initiative
At MusicFund, we're all about giving a leg up to up-and-coming artists. Our community fund dishes out ETH grants to these budding talents, and our members call the shots on where the cash flows, no strings attached. We're all about artists owning their craft, so they're free to use the ETH however they see fit, without losing any copyright. It's like giving artists the keys to their own creative kingdom, breaking free from the old-school funding norms, and embracing a fresh wave of artistic freedom.

The community fund
Creating the layout for MusicFund's voting page, we aimed for simplicity and ease of use. Knowing that many of our users are new to the crypto world, we wanted to make sure they could easily understand how everything works while staying true to MusicFund's vibe - user-friendliness without compromising on functionality.

We narrowed it down to two options and let our awesome community on Discord, friends and artists weigh in through A/B testing and usability testing. Turns out, Voting page #1 was the clear winner. Users found it super easy to navigate and intuitive, kind of like other voting platforms they've used before. Plus, it gave them just the right amount of info without overwhelming them.
